The service station GNL of La Jonquera (Gerona) received the participants of the Blue Corridor LNG Rally in its last stage in the Iberian Peninsula.

On September 18 in Lisbon the eleventh edition of the Blue Corridor Rally began for vehicles powered by natural gas and LNG trucks. The participants aim to travel 5,700 km in 18 days, passing through 9 European countries and finish in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, coinciding with the celebration of the International Gas Forum.

The Iberian part of this rally has the collaboration of Gasnam, as well as several companies from Spain and Portugal linked to this alternative fuel.

The Blue Corridor LNG Rally takes place every year in different routes, confirming the objectives of the European LNG Blue Corridors project approved in 2013 and coordinated from Spain, which has highlighted the wide possibilities of liquefied natural gas (LNG), as the only alternative to petroleum derivatives in heavy road transport, both nationally and internationally.

With the imminent opening of the LNG supply station in La Jonquera, HAM will operate a network of 12-point stations for the supply of LNG liquefied natural gas in the main routes of the Spanish geography (see map). This La Jonquera station has been co-financed by the EU through the CEF program (connecting europe facility) in a project led by HAM and the Slovenian company ENOS LNG. This project aims to promote the use of LNG in the Barcelona-Ljubljana route in an efficient and innovative way.
